Course Description

This fully online Child at Risk Refresher course is designed to update and strengthen the knowledge and skills of professionals who work with children and young people. The course covers critical topics such as identifying signs of abuse, understanding legal obligations, and appropriately reporting concerns in accordance with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and relevant legislation.

Participants will engage with culturally sensitive content, including an Acknowledgement of Country and specific considerations for working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. The course addresses maintaining professional boundaries, ethical responsibilities, and how to work responsively with children who may have disabilities or come from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Through a mix of video presentations, theory assessments, and practical guidance, learners will gain confidence in recognising and responding to child protection issues while upholding ethical and legal standards.
