This 100% online, non-accredited medication administration refresher course is specifically designed for Disability Support Workers who need to update and refresh their knowledge of safe medication practices and regulatory guidelines. The course focuses on reinforcing the essential principles of assisting clients with medication in line with current industry standards and duty of care responsibilities.
Through a series of engaging video modules, participants will review critical topics such as the guiding principles of medication administration, understanding different types of medications, proper techniques for administering medication, recognising and responding to adverse reactions, managing medication refusal and incidents, and ensuring safe storage and disposal. The course also includes a refresher quiz to assess understanding and consolidate learning.
This training is ideal for support workers in disability care, aged care, or community support roles who are not seeking formal accreditation but want to stay current with best practices in medication assistance. It promotes client safety, reduces the risk of errors, and supports workers in meeting their professional and ethical obligations.
